This is achieved by promoting ethical fruit production, ensuring worker health and safety, fair treatment of farm and pack-house workers and maintaining traceability of products from orchard to store.
JWM Asia applies the stipulated regulations of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Logistical Practice (GLP) for the production, handling and packaging of fresh produce, applicable to the relevant export countries.
Under EUREP, worker conditions must comply with local regulations, as well as either with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code or the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) code. JWM is also a registered member of the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) and SIZA, which monitors compliance to minimum labour and human rights standards on fruit farms.
From our supply base we encourage implementation of Integrated Crop Management (ICM) as part of the crop protection strategy.
From a product supplier perspective, we have regular reviews to maintain the ISA 9001:2008 requirements ensuring continuous improvement and to remain the preferred global provider of fresh produce and supply chain solutions. Depending on customer requirements, our suppliers might be requested to attain one or more of the following production and management standards: BRC, SQF, IFS, HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, BSCI and ETI.
